My favorite photos of the session:
Hi! I'm Carlota
I’m a Fairfield County maternity photographer based in Bethel, CT, and I also work full-time as a product designer. Photography is something I do on the side because it brings me so much joy. It keeps me creative and lets me document meaningful moments in people’s lives—something I’ve loved doing since I was a teenager.
My style is bright, natural, and true to color. I like a mix of posed and candid shots, and my goal is always to make you feel comfortable, confident, and fully yourself in front of the camera.
When it comes to planning a session, I keep things easy and flexible—we’ll connect by text, phone, or email, and I’ll send over a quick questionnaire that helps me understand your vision. That way, I can plan thoughtful poses and help choose a location that feels meaningful and makes you feel your best.
How it started
Sejal found me through Yelp and reached out about booking a maternity session. She and her partner are expecting twins—their first babies—this July! From our first conversation, I could tell how excited and intentional she was about this season of life.
After chatting through a few options, we chose Waveny Park in New Canaan. It’s a favorite of mine for a reason—there are big open fields, a beautiful historic building, and lots of scenic little pockets for photos. Even though it was an overcast day, the park still had that soft, glowing charm. The sun peeked through just enough to give us a few beautiful light-filled moments.
The session at Waveny Park
We spent about an hour walking around the park, stopping at different spots near the building, along the tree-lined paths, and out in the open grassy areas. Sejal wore a flowy dress that looked beautiful in the breeze, and her partner was right by her side the whole time—supportive, excited, and soaking in the moment.
Throughout the session, we talked about what they’re looking forward to as new parents, how they’re preparing for life with twins, and all the unknowns that come with that first chapter. There was so much joy and warmth between them, and it came through in the photos.
It didn’t feel rushed or overly posed—it felt like time set aside just for them to reflect and enjoy this milestone.
Why maternity photos matter
Maternity photos are more than just documenting the bump—they’re about capturing the anticipation and excitement of what’s to come. Especially during a first pregnancy, it’s such a unique time filled with new emotions and changes, and it deserves to be remembered.
For Sejal and her partner, these photos are a way to look back and remember the moment right before life changes in the best way—with two little ones on the way.
