Hi! I'm Carlota - a little about me
Hi! I’m Carlota. I work full-time as a product designer and run a part-time photography business based in Bethel, CT, serving Fairfield and Westchester County. Photography has always been a creative outlet for me—it keeps me inspired and allows me to connect with people in a really meaningful way.
My style is true-to-color, bright, and a mix of posed and candid moments. I love working with clients to help them feel confident and comfortable, and I focus on capturing photos that feel joyful, emotional, and genuine.
What working together looks like
When someone books a session with me, we always start with a little pre-planning. I send over a quick questionnaire to help guide the process—what kind of location you’re imagining, who will be in the photos, any specific ideas you have in mind.
After that, we usually text about details like outfits and timing. Priscilla texted me a few outfit options leading up to her shoot, and we talked through what would photograph best while also feeling comfortable and true to her. She ended up going with a beautiful deep green dress that looked amazing in her backyard.
Priscilla’s at-home graduation senior portraits
Priscilla had just graduated with her nursing degree and wanted to celebrate with a session that felt personal. She decided to do her graduation senior portraits at home in Danbury, where she’d spent a lot of time studying and building toward this moment.
In addition to solo portraits, she also wanted to include her parents, her brother, and their dog Pete—who was very much part of the celebration.
We also made sure to get a full set of portraits of her in her graduation attire—cap, gown, and nursing stole—to mark the occasion.
The session itself
We met on a warm, sunny afternoon and shot everything in her backyard. It was relaxed and easygoing—the kind of vibe that makes for the best photos. We started with portraits of her in the green dress, followed by her graduation look.
Her parents joined in for a few family shots, and her brother popped in too. And then there was Pete—very on brand for a family dog, he quickly decided he was part of the session and honestly worked the camera like a pro. He didn’t need any props or costumes—just his natural charm.
The whole shoot felt comfortable and special, and being at home made it even more meaningful. These are the kinds of sessions I love—where the location and people make it personal.
Why senior photos matter
Senior photos aren’t just about a cap and gown—they’re about honoring all the effort, time, and growth it took to reach this point. Whether you’ve spent four years or even longer working toward your degree, it’s a milestone worth capturing.
For Priscilla, graduating nursing school was the end of one long chapter and the beginning of something brand new. Taking photos to celebrate that moment—especially surrounded by the people and places that supported her along the way—felt like the perfect way to mark it.
