On Saturday, August 16th, I had the honor of photographing a regional Athlete Games event hosted by Burn Boot Camp Fairfield, CT.


For anyone who’s new to Burn, Burn Boot Camp is a community-focused gym that offers 45-minute, trainer-led camps. Each day is different, and trainers are there to guide, challenge, and motivate you every step of the way.

The Athlete Games take things up a notch. Trainers from across Burn Nation travel to 23 host locations to compete for the top 16 spots in each division. From there, the top 64 athletes move on to the ultimate strength and conditioning competition—the Athlete Games Finals.


What Makes This Event So Special

What I love most about this event is the role reversal. Usually, trainers are the ones coaching and cheering for their members—but on this day, the script flips. The crowd gets to cheer for the trainers, watching them push themselves the same way they push us in camp.


As a photographer, this makes it such a fun event to capture. The energy is electric, and the moments are powerful—trainers showing grit, determination, and strength; the crowd rallying behind them; the high-fives and celebrations after each challenge. Behind the lens, I get to freeze those motivational, empowering moments… and honestly? Every single trainer looked like a total badass.


Wrapping It Up

Being part of the Athlete Games at Burn Boot Camp Fairfield was such a good reminder of why I love event photography. It’s not just about snapping photos—it’s about capturing the energy, the community, and the memories that people will look back on and relive again and again.


If you were at the event, I hope these photos bring you right back to that day. And if you’ve never been to an Athlete Games before, go cheer one on—it’s seriously so inspiring.
